Social media runs much of today’s society and has such a huge impact on our everyday lives, which some can argue may be a little obsessive and unhealthy…but on March 21, 2006, a gem was created… that gem is known as Twitter.
Twitter is the OG social media platform that has remained consistent, which is why if I had to get rid of all forms of social media today and only keep one, that would without a doubt be Twitter.
I remember making my first account in the 6th grade (what exactly I was talking about who knows so please don’t try to find my old account) but Twitter has evolved with me.
Without a doubt, it’s the one place where you can laugh, cry and really be yourself. For example, on Instagram, generally everyone is only showing the pretty part of their lives and themselves. Whereas Twitter, it’s a community of memes, trying to go viral to get free food from Wendy’s, jokes, discussing mental health and social issues, and just tweeting about things thousands of people can relate to.
